Mrs. Coconut head Ong
I overheard my colleagues talking about their home econ days in their secondary schs. Reminiscence of my home econ days back in secondary sch, with D&t. It was soo much fun then, thinking back now. I only remember a couple of people from my econs and d&t class cos the class was split into 2. Group 1 did econs at the first half of the yr and group 2 did d&t and then switch later. So in my group, there were Cindy, fang, Izzah, Dewei, Edward, Juanchen...i cant really remember the rest. Like the title, Mrs coconut head Ong obviously refers to our first econs teacher, Mrs Ong. Izzah and I came up with that nick for her because she had a coconut-shaped hairstyle. HAHA! I remember once, we were going to bake cookies and my cooking partner was Juanchen. He did the preparations and collection of the ingredients from the teacher's counter and i did the washing and heating of the oven. Being a helpful partner =D i gave my partner a hand when i was done. I took the baking tray, went to the front, took the brush from a bowl of glossy-looking substance, brushed and glazed my tray, i heard coconut head, or was it the fat indian lady(second econs teacher) shouting 'aye, why are u glazing ur tray with egg white?' Oops, i mistook the egg white for oil. Can u imagine, if she didnt spot me, we'll get a layer of cooked egg white on the tray with the cookies stucked to it. Haha..
And fang & ed were partners, they are damn gross i tell u, they never, and i mean never ever wash their cutleries, pots and pans before they use it. Eww..i wonder how many cockroaches and lizards had crawled over the pans and cutleries.
Also in d&t classes, so much fun. Mr. Wan always gave us answers to our workbook when we whine to him. All the action in the technical room, young technicians in the making.....NOT! We only enjoyed wasting sand papers, wasting wood and plastics. Nostalgia for the sec sch days.
